B.Mirror Desk: Two workshops on finalizing the draft script for a documentary and the layout for factsheets produced under the Lessons Learned and Best Practices Video Documentation initiative of the Climate Resilient Local Infrastructure Center (CReLIC), operating under the Climate Resilient Infrastructure Mainstreaming Project (CRIMP) of the Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) were held on Wednesday September 23 at the seminar room of LGED Headquarters.
The workshops were chaired by Kazi Saiful Kabir Additional Chief Engineer of LGED and Director of CReLIC. Md. Belal Hossain Chief Engineer of LGED attended as chief guest. In his remarks, he said that LGED is continuously working to build innovative and durable infrastructure to address the risks posed by climate change. He noted that the video documentary and factsheets developed through the day’s two workshops would further enrich CReLIC’s Knowledge Management System (KMS), and that these materials would serve as valuable references for policymakers, development partners, local government institutions, and other relevant stakeholders.
In his presidential remarks, Kazi Saiful Kabir said that the feedback and recommendations gathered through the two workshops would help refine and enhance the quality of the video documentary and factsheets. He stated that CReLIC’s core objective is to properly document and widely disseminate successful models and experiences in climate-resilient infrastructure. He added that even after the project concludes, these documentaries and factsheets would continue to serve as guiding references for engineers and researchers in implementing new and sustainable infrastructure in the future.
Representatives of the consulting firm engaged for the assignment, Arani Advertising Ltd., including Team Leader Pankaj Palit, Senior Manager (Operations) Rajib Ahmed, and Planning and Business Development Manager Didarul Alam, presented their remarks through PowerPoint presentations.
The workshops were also attended by LGED Additional Chief Engineers Abul Bashed Mohammad Rezaul Bari and Md. Wahiduzzaman former Additional Chief Engineer Md. Ahsan Habib; Superintending Engineers Abdul Hamid and Md. Rayhan Siddique project directors, executive engineers and senior assistant engineers of various projects as well as CRIMP-CReLIC Executive Engineer Fatema Ismat Ara, Assistant Engineer Arpan Paul and CReLIC expert consultants Md. Abdul Noor, Md. Shahidul Islam, Md. Sadekur Rahman Bhuiyan, Md. Masudur Rahman and Syed Mahabub Ahsan.
