B Mirror Report: Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is scheduled to distribute the prestigious Ekushey Padak-2026 at a ceremony in the capital on February 26. According to a press release issued by the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, the Prime Minister will hand over the country’s second-highest civilian award at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium at 11:00 am.
The government has already announced the names of nine eminent individuals and one music band selected for the Ekushey Padak-2026 in recognition of their outstanding contributions in their respective fields. The award recipients are Farida Akhtar Babita for Film, Professor Md Abdus Sattar for Fine Arts, Marina Tabassum for Architecture, Ayub Bachchu for Music, Arthy Ahmed for Dance, Islam Uddin Palakar for Palagan, Shafik Rehman for Journalism, Professor Dr Mahbubul Alam Majumdar for Education, Tejosh Haldar Josh for Sculpture, and the band Warfaze for Music.
The Ekushey Padak is conferred annually to honor distinguished citizens and organizations for their remarkable achievements and significant contributions to the nation across various sectors.
