DCCI Delegation explores trade opportunities at Guangzhou

B Mirror Report: In an effort to find new trade and investment prospects, a business delegation from the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI), led by Senior Vice President Razeev H. Chowdhury, attended the 6th Guangzhou Sourcing Fair on Wednesday.

During the B2B matchmaking session organized on the sidelines of the fair, members of the DCCI delegation exchanged business and investment information with around 150 Chinese supplier companies.

Speaking at a bilateral discussion on supply chain issues, Razeev H. Chowdhury said Bangladesh and China share a long-standing multidimensional partnership covering trade, investment, infrastructure, education, and human resource development.

He noted that total bilateral trade between the two countries stood at US$18.89 billion in FY2025, with Bangladesh’s imports and exports amounting to $18.20 billion and $694.49 million respectively.

He also invited Chinese investors to explore opportunities in Bangladesh’s textile and textile products, machinery, chemicals, metals, plastics, minerals, and agro-based sectors.

Meanwhile, Nicole Fan, Director of Poly Jinhan Exhibition (Poly Events), said the fair would play an important role in strengthening business links between entrepreneurs of China and Bangladesh.

She expressed hope for increased participation of Bangladeshi entrepreneurs in future editions of the sourcing fair, adding that it would help them connect with China’s vast supplier network and explore new avenues of cooperation.
