Workshop Held to Boost Cluster Financing in CMSME Sector

Imran, Jhenaidah Correspondent:  A workshop was organized in Jhenaidah with the aim of expanding cluster-based financing in the Cottage, Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (CMSME) sector and making financial services more accessible to entrepreneurs.

The event took place on Tuesday morning at the Food Safari auditorium in the town, initiated by all the banks operating in the district.

GM Kamaluzzaman Kamal, Director of Bangladesh Bank’s Khulna Office, was present as the chief guest, while SM Emdadul Haque, Regional Head (Western Region 2) of Bank Asia, presided over the session.

Special guests included:

  • Mohammad Mizanur Rahman, DGM, Sonali Bank PLC, Jhenaidah Principal Office
  • Shahidul Islam, DGM, Janata Bank, Jhenaidah Area Office
  • SM Israfil Hossain, DGM, Agrani Bank, Jhenaidah Regional Office
  • Ziaur Rahman, DGM, Bangladesh Krishi Bank, Jhenaidah Chief Regional Office

The event was coordinated by SM Firoz Haider, Branch Manager of Bank Asia, Jhenaidah. The workshop was arranged by Bank Asia as the lead bank, with 130 entrepreneurs and bankers participating.

Speakers at the workshop highlighted that increased cluster-based financing would make it easier for local entrepreneurs to expand their businesses and would create more employment opportunities. They also noted that strengthening this sector would help make the country’s economy more dynamic and resilient.
