The category of Sonali Life Insurance Company Limited, which is listed on the capital market, has been altered. The company has been elevated from ‘Z’ category to ‘A’ category.
This update was disclosed by sources from the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE).
As per the source, the upgrade to ‘A’ category was granted after the company distributed a 10 percent cash dividend to general investors for the fiscal year 2023 on December 31. The company will commence trading in the ‘A’ category starting today, Monday (September 1).
Nevertheless, following the category change, the DSE has restricted brokerage firms and merchant banks from offering loan facilities to the company for the next 7 working days.
