Due to a bank holiday, tomorrow, July 1, all banking operations and trading at the nation’s two stock exchanges will be suspended.
According to the Bangladesh Bank’s annual holiday calendar, July 1 and December 31 are set aside as bank holidays, which are observed in order to close and complete the annual financial accounts.
On these two dates, which correspond to the start of the fiscal year and the conclusion of the calendar year, all scheduled banks nationwide halt all transactions involving their customers.
Key branches and the bank’s headquarters will continue to conduct internal administrative tasks.
During the holiday, the central bank and other commercial banks will not be dealing with customers or conducting any transactions; however, certain services, such ATM withdrawals, will still be accessible.
The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) will both halt trading on Tuesday due to the reliance of stock trading on banking transactions.
