Free goat distribution among hundreds of poor rural women with financial assistance from BNF

Abdul Based Correspondent: Two hundred goats each have been distributed and handed over free of cost to one hundred women under the Self-Social Development Project through goat rearing of poor rural women in Panchagarh. These goats were distributed and handed over through four union social welfare federations with the assistance of Bangladesh NGO Foundation-BNF.

Last Saturday morning, 42 goats were distributed and handed over to 21 women in Chaklahat Union Social Welfare Federation of Sadar Upazila, 42 goats were distributed and handed over to 34 women in Haribhasa Union, 42 goats were distributed and handed over to 21 women in Hafizabad Union Social Welfare Federation, and last Friday afternoon, 42 goats were distributed and handed over to 21 women in Jhalai Salshiri Union Social Welfare Federation of Boda Upazila.

Bangladesh NGO Foundation Deputy General Manager (Program) Mustafa Kamal Bhaiya was present as the chief guest at the goat distribution ceremony. At the time, RDRS Bangladesh Panchagarh Core Comprehensive Program Community Development Supervisor Atiqur Rahman, Hafizabad UP Chairman Ismail Hossain, Rangpur Divisional Federation President Solaiman Ali, Chaklahat Union Social Welfare Federation Chairman Sahirul Islam, Hafizabad Union Social Welfare Federation Chairman Abed Ali, Mirzapur Union Federation Chairman Dabirul Islam, Jhalai Salshiri Social Welfare Federation Chairman Kobad Hossain, etc.,

spoke among others. Speaking as the chief guest, Bangladesh NGO Foundation Deputy General Manager (Program) Mustafa Kamal Bhaiya said that BNF is providing financial assistance through small private organizations across the country under the socio-economic development project of rural women through goat rearing. Through this cooperation, rural poor women are becoming self-reliant; as well as being able to provide financial support to the family, their importance in the family is increasing. In the future, BNF is trying to make more poor women self-reliant by bringing them under this project.
