B Mirror Desk :  The government has approved an allocation of 154 crores 3 lakh 7 thousand 572 taka for land development associated with the Jessore Export Processing Zone (EPZ) project. This expenditure received the green light from the Government Procurement Advisory Council Committee following a proposal from the Chief Advisor’s Office.

The approval was granted during a meeting of the Government Procurement Advisory Council Committee, which took place on Thursday, April 17, in the Cabinet Division’s conference room at the Secretariat, chaired by Finance Advisor Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed.

As per sources from the meeting, the Chief Advisor’s Office presented a proposal for land development under the Jessore EPZ project, which was subsequently approved by the Advisory Council Committee.

In the re-tendering process for the land development works, conducted using a one-stage two-envelope tendering method, five bids were received, with two deemed responsive. Following the completion of the tender evaluation process, the Technical Evaluation Committee (TEC) recommended awarding the project to the lowest responsive bidders, National Development Engineers Limited and Khokon Construction and Engineers Limited, working in partnership. The total expenditure for this project will amount to 154 crores 3 lakh 7 thousand 572 taka, which includes the filling of 73 lakh 78 thousand 391 cubic meters of soil for the land development.
