The chairman of the nation’s contentious industrial group, Orion Group, Obaidul Karim, his wife, Mrs. Arjuda Karim, son, Salman Obaidul Karim, and daughter, Jerin Karim, have been prohibited from traveling abroad by the court.
On Monday, February 17, Senior Special Judge Md. Zakir Hossain Ghalib of the Dhaka Metropolitan issued the ruling in response to the Anti-Corruption Commission’s (ACC) application.
According to the ACC’s application, an investigation into claims of money laundering against the Orion Group’s chairman and the company is in progress. The data and proof gathered throughout the inquiry are probably going to establish the allegations’ initial veracity. Confidential sources have revealed that those involved in the accusations are attempting to flee the country and relocate abroad. As a result, the ACC stated in its application that they must cancel their international trip.
