The full report of the 6 Reforms Commission is published today

Today, February 8, will see the release of the complete report from the six reform commissions established by the interim administration. The administration has stated that the political parties and forces behind the mass uprising today will receive the reform commission’s complete report and recommendations.

The National Consensus Commission’s first official meeting is scheduled for mid-February, following negotiations and agreements with all political parties and forces backing the public revolt. Discussions with the major parties will determine this date.

At a press conference held at the Foreign Service Academy on Tuesday, February 4, Legal Advisor Asif Nazrul stated that the whole report or proposal of the six reform commissions will be formally released on February 8. Additionally, he stated that in mid-February, the National Consensus Commission will begin talks with the political parties.

Asif Nazrul stated, “On February 8, the six reform commissions’ complete findings will be formally released. On that day, the National Consensus Commission will begin operations. Beginning in mid-February, that commission can begin talks with other political parties.

Asif Nazrul further said, ‘In addition to publishing the full report of the 6 Reform Commissions on February 8, the commission heads will review and decide on the immediate, medium-term and long-term tasks of the Reform Commission. The election and post-election tasks will be reviewed. After that, the commission’s report will be sent to all political parties and participants in the July coup.’

The legal advisor said, ‘Later, the first meeting of the National Consensus Commission will be held subject to discussions with the forces and political parties supporting the July coup. We hope that this meeting can be held in mid-February.’

The meeting of the National Consensus Commission will be presided over by the head of the commission and the chief advisor to the interim government, Dr. Muhammad Yunus.

Chief Advisor Dr. proposed the creation of six special commissions for state reforms in his speech to the public on September 11, one month and three days after the interim government was formed and Sheikh Hasina fell on August 5. Yunus. The editor of Sujan (Citizens for Good Governance), Badiul Alam Majumder, was chosen to lead the Election Commission. Former Justice Shah Abu Naeem Mominur Rahman leads the Commission for Judicial Reform, former Public Administration and Home Secretary Safar Raj Hossain leads the Police Reform Commission, Dr. Iftekharuzzaman, Executive Director of Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB), leads the Commission for Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), and former advisor to the caretaker administration Abdul Muyid Chowdhury is the head of the Commission for Public Administration Reform, and Professor Dr. Ali Riaz is the head of the Constitutional Reform Commission.
