The categories of two companies listed on the capital market have been upgraded. The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) has upgraded the two companies from Z category to ‘A’ and ‘B’ categories after they completed the distribution of the declared dividends of the financial year to investors.
The three companies are Asiatic Laboratories and Bangladesh Building Systems (BBS).
This information was revealed by Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) sources.
According to the source, Asiatic Laboratories has been upgraded to ‘A’ category with a 10 percent cash dividend for the period ending June 30, 2024. And BBS has returned to ‘B’ category with a 0.5 percent cash dividend for the period ending today.
The companies will trade in ‘A’ and ‘B’ categories from today, Wednesday (February 5).
However, due to the category change, the DSE has prohibited brokerage houses and merchant banks from providing credit facilities to the two companies within the next 7 working days.
