Beximco announces lay-off of four more factories

Beximco Limited, a listed company in the capital market, has announced layoffs and layoffs at four of its branches. The company’s management announced the closure of production at these factories and layoffs on February 4. This information was revealed by Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) sources.

According to the source, Yarn Unit-2, Textile, Denim and Knitting Division of Beximco Industrial Park in Kashimpur, Gazipur have been closed and workers have been laid off. However, other divisions of the group, such as Yarn Unit-1 in Rupganj, will continue to operate.

Several Beximco factories have been laid off before. Then last week, the government decided to completely close 12 of the companies in the Beximco Industrial Park that were on layoff. It was also decided to sell the mortgaged shares of listed Beximco Pharma and Shinepukur Ceramic. It was also decided to pay the arrears of salaries to the employees of the factories that were closed by February.

In this context, Beximco authorities decided to close four more factories yesterday.
