Shahjalal Islami Bank PLC. organized the School Banking Conference-2025 at Kalapara Municipal Auditorium Complex, Patuakhali on 11 January, 2025 as the lead bank in cooperation with all Scheduled Banks operating in Patuakhali district under the overall supervision of Bangladesh Bank. Mr. Md. Sirajul Islam, Executive Director, Bangladesh Bank, Barishal Zonal Office was present as chief guest at the School Banking Conference-2025. The Deputy Managing Director of Shahjalal Islami Bank PLC Mr. M. M. Saiful Islam presided over the program while Mr. Mohammad Iqbal Mohasin, Director, Financial Inclusion Department, Bangladesh Bank, Head Office and Mr. Md. Mahabub-ul Alam, Deputy Director, Bangladesh Bank, Head Office were present as special guest.

Among others, the Upazila Secondary Education Officer (Current Charge) Mr. Mohammad Moniruzzaman Khan, the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kalapara Police Station Mr. Md. Jewel Mia, the EVP of Risk Management Division of Shahjalal Islami Bank PLC Mr. Mohammed Abu Shayem and the Manager of the lead bank branch Khepupara Branch Mr. Mir Touhid Ahmmad were present at the event. More than 200 students and teachers from different schools of Patuakhali district participated in the event.

In the event, the speakers encouraged the students to conserve and highlighted the necessity of savings in future life. Moreover, they inform the students about school banking and provides them with the necessary guidance to inculcate the savings mindset. The discussants mentioned in their speech that the significant amount of school banking account in the banking sector is highly commendable.

In order to increase public awareness about school banking, a colorful rally consisting of students from different schools on the main road of the city was held.

In the Day-long School Banking Conference-2025, prize distribution, cultural program and distribution of gifts among students created a festive atmosphere.
