Ban on nine mutual funds lifted in a single day

Ban on unit trading in the block market of nine mutual funds managed by asset management firm Bangladesh Race Asset Management has been lifted. This information is known from DSE sources.

It is known that on Sunday (June 09), the stock market regulatory body imposed a ban on the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC).

From today (June 10), there will be no ban on funds. Funds will be traded as per existing rules. BSEC’s ban on Sunday said it will remain in place until further instructions from the regulator.

The 9 listed mutual funds managed by RES are- AB Bank First Mutual Fund, EBL First Mutual Fund, EBL NRB Mutual Fund, Exim Bank First Mutual Fund, First Janata Bank Mutual Fund, First Bangladesh Mutual Fund, IFIC Bank First Mutual Fund.

The BSEC did not say why the ban on trading of fund units in the block market was suddenly imposed and why it was withdrawn just a day later.
