Zahidul Islam took charge as DC of Rajbari

Rajbari correspondent: Rajbari’s new Deputy Commissioner (DC) Mohammad Zahidul Islam Mia joined  his duty on November 2.

A notification was issued by the Ministry of Public Administration on October 30 appointing Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Shipping Zahidul Islam as the 24th DC of Rajbari district.

Zahidul Islam was born in October 1979 in a noble Muslim family of Tangail Bhuapur Upazila. His father Mohammad Chand Miah was a retired manager of Agrani Bank, also a brave freedom fighter and a freedom fighter commander of the upazila. His Mother Jahanara Sultana is a housewife. Zahidul Islam is the eldest among the three children of his parents.

From his student life, he was admitted to Dhaka University. He completed his graduation and post graduation from the International Relations Department of Dhaka University. At the same time, he obtained a diploma in Russian with first class honors from the Institute of Modern Languages, University of Dhaka. Later, he obtained an MSc degree from the UK with honors in international human resource management under the scholarship of the Ministry of Public Administration.

After passing 25th BCS examination in 2006,he  joined Lalmonirhat district as Assistant Commissioner. He served as NDC of the district for a long time in Lalmonirhat and later in Nilphamari district. Later, he also served as Assistant Commissioner (Land) in Palash Bari of Gaibandha District and Sadar Upazila of Moulvibazar.

Zahidul served as upazila executive officer in Kamalganj of Moulvibazar district and Chatkhile of Noakhali district After being promoted. He was awarded as the best government officer of the district in 2015 while he was the Upazila Nirbahi Officer of Kamalganj as an award for efficiency.
