World Bank will grant 25 crore dollars to Bangladesh.

Finance and Trade Adviser Saleh uddin Ahmed said that the World Bank will provide a one-time grant of 250 million dollars to Bangladesh to deal with emergency risks. But even with over two hundred green factories, the US government will take more time on Generalized System of Preferences (GSP) benefits.

Bangladesh had heavy rainfall from late August to September. Due to the flood caused by this, people’s life became miserable in the south-eastern and northern parts of the country. The communication system has been particularly affected. The prices of daily commodities were on the rise due to crop failure. In this context, the World Bank is standing by the interim government to bring the rural life back to normal.

A delegation led by the Finance Advisor of Bangladesh sat in talks with World Bank Vice President Martin Reiser in Washington on Wednesday (October 23) local time on the reform of the country’s financial sector.

Talking to the journalists after the meeting, the adviser said that the World Bank will give a one-time grant of 250 million or 250 million dollars to Bangladesh to deal with the emergency risk.

Prior to this, the finance advisor also spoke to the US state delegation on various issues. In this regard, he said, Bangladesh is not getting GSP benefits in the United States as the working environment of workers and all factories is not up to the prescribed level. US will take more time on GSP benefits even if it has more than 200 green factories.

The special support of development partners in large areas on the way to overcoming the crisis is playing a special role in creating new plans for renaissance. On the one hand, providing loans, on the other hand, financial assistance or grants, all these assistances of the donor groups will create a new platform for the economic development of Bangladesh – this is what the representatives of the government think.
