BSEC officials and employees have withdrawn their demand for the resignation of the commission led by capital market regulator Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) Chairman Khandaker Rashed Maksud.
The BSEC Officers Welfare Association requested the officials and employees to return to work on Saturday (March 8) night.
BSEC officials and employees have joined work since Sunday (March 9) morning. A visit to the BSEC office in Agargaon showed that law enforcement officers are stationed at the BSEC office to control the situation.
Several senior BSEC officials, who did not want to be named, said that BSEC officials and employees have joined work since the morning. However, none of the officials and employees against whom cases have been filed are working.
As announced by the BSEC Officers Welfare Association, the officers and employees of the organization went on strike on Thursday (March 6). The BSEC Officers Welfare Association announced the strike at an emergency press conference on Wednesday.
On March 5, the officers and employees of the BSEC tried to block the chairman and commissioners and press for their demands.
