Bangladesh’s tech giant and super brand ‘Walton’ has been honoured with ‘SDG Brand Champion Awards-2025.’ Walton was awarded total of three accolades in the third edition of ‘SDG Brand Champion Awards-2025’.

Among these awards, Walton won ‘SDG Brand Champion in most sustainable electronic item manufacturing company of the year category. For its clean energy initiatives, Walton was awarded ‘SDG Brand Campion in Affordable, and Clean Energy’ category.

Apart from the two awards, the tech giant was also honoured with the ‘Honorable Mention’ in the category of ‘SDG Brand Champion in Climate and Environment.

Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC’s Managing Director S M Mahbubul Alam received the ‘SDG Brand Champion Awards-2025′ at a programme held at Radisson Blu Water Garden Hotel in the capital on Saturday night (12 July, 2025).

In an instant reaction, Walton Hi-Tech’s Managing Director S M Mahbubul Alam said, “We are very happy to be honored with SDG Brand Champion Awards-2025’ in three categories. On behalf of Walton family, I thanked the Bangladesh Brand Forum and the related parties for giving us these prestigious awards.

Walton is strongly promised to manufacture environment-friendly energy efficient world-class electrical and electronics products, mentioning it Walton Hi-Tech’s MD noted that Walton adopted environment-friendly state-of-the art technologies and machineries in the manufacturing plants. Align with the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Walton has taken various initiatives for ensuring environment protection and clean energy. The initiatives included set-up rooftop solar project and country’s largest floating solar power plant which has a capacity of producing 1-megawatt power,  use of CFC and HCFC free environment-friendly gases, waste minimize and recycling, compost, application of energy efficient technology, reduction of GHG emission, plastic and metal recycling. Following these initiatives, Walton secured ‘Green Factory Award’ this year for the second time and also won the National Environment Award-2018.

Initiated by Bangladesh Innovation Conclave, Bangladesh Brand Forum and Sustainable Brand Initiative organized this award giving function aimed to recognise and honour private organizations and brands that have contributed outstandingly to achieving the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Bangladesh.
