Volume Dips as Market Index Experiences Decline

On the third working day of the week, all price indices of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) concluded trading with a downward trend. During this period, the prices of 250 companies experienced a decline. Conversely, the trading volume in terms of taka further decreased.

On Tuesday (July 29), the primary index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), known as ‘DSEX’, dropped by 33.59 points, bringing the index to a current level of 5,298 points.

Additionally, another index of the DSE, ‘DSES’, decreased by 11.04 points to reach 1,147 points, while the ‘DS-30’ index fell by 17.60 points to settle at 2,044 points.

Today, shares and units valued at 717 crore 32 lakh 20 thousand taka were traded on the DSE. In comparison, the previous working day saw transactions totaling 805 crore 39 lakh 87 thousand taka.

A total of 396 shares and units from various companies were exchanged on the DSE today. Among the companies involved in the transactions, the prices of 92 companies rose, while 250 companies saw their prices decline. Furthermore, the prices of shares and units from 64 companies remained stable.
