Typhoid Vaccine Training Held in Bheramara

A training meeting for a typhoid vaccination campaign took place in Bheramara Upazila of Kushtia.

On Monday morning at 11:30 am, the meeting was conducted in the hall room of the Bheramara Upazila Health Complex, in partnership with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Gavl Path UNICEF, and the World Health Organization Bangladesh. Rafiqul Islam, the Upazila Executive Officer, attended as the chief guest. He mentioned that several companies have privately marketed this typhoid vaccine. For the first time, boys and girls aged 9 to 15 years will receive the typhoid vaccine through free registration.

A total of 53,480 individuals in Bheramara Upazila will be vaccinated against typhoid at no cost. Among these, 15,795 will be administered to kindergarten and madrasa students across various educational institutions. Additionally, 16,933 will be allocated to female students, and 20,752 will receive free typhoid vaccinations from community clinics. He emphasized the importance of motivating everyone to get vaccinated.

The initiative should be widely promoted in collaboration with the heads of different educational institutions and through announcements in newspapers. This typhoid vaccination program is set to continue for a month. The meeting was chaired by Dr. Mizanur Rahman, the Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer, with participation from Dr. Md. Latiful Kabir, Medical Officer at Bheramara Health Complex, Dr. Md. Asif Siddique, Upazila Family Planning Officer, Abdur Rob Talukder, Officer-in-Charge of Bheramara Police Station, Faruk Ahmed, Upazila Secondary Education Officer, Jalal Uddin, Upazila Primary Education Officer, Emdadul Haque Biswas, Upazila Social Service Officer, along with doctors and senior nurses who took part in this typhoid vaccination campaign training meeting.
