Two Businesses Fined Tk 40,000 in Anti-Adulteration Drive in Sylhet

Nurul Amin Khan (Sylhet Bureau Chief): Two business establishments in Sylhet have been fined a total of Tk 40,000 during a joint anti-adulteration drive conducted by RAB-9 and the Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection.

The drive was carried out in the Bandar Bazar area of Sylhet city. During the operation, the authorities found that some businesses were selling products without proper packaging and were not supplying or selling goods in accordance with regulations. As a result, fines were imposed under the Consumer Rights Protection Act.

The drive was conducted on Monday (9 March). RAB disclosed the information on Tuesday (10 March) afternoon.

According to RAB, Messrs Hridoy and Brothers at Lal Dighirpar Hawkers Market was fined Tk 20,000 for violating the Consumer Rights Protection Act, while Shahjalal Store was also fined Tk 20,000.
