The extortionists, identified as Rajib (20) and Md. Sujan (22), threatened Md. Shamsur Rahman, the owner of Khan Rice Agency, by brandishing a black toy pistol at his waist in the Kashinathpur Bazar area of Santhia police station in Pabna district on the evening of Monday, July 28.
In response, the rice shop owner grasped the barrel of the toy pistol with his left hand, aimed it at the extortionists, and summoned local businesspeople in the market. They quickly arrived at the scene, apprehended the two extortionists, and notified the police. The police subsequently arrested the suspects and transported them to the police station.
A case has been registered at the Santhia police station regarding this incident.
