Turnover Jumps, DSE Index Gains 109 Points

On Monday (24 November), the second trading day of the week, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) closed with a strong upward trend as both the key index and trading turnover increased. A significant majority of the participating companies saw their share prices rise, reflecting a positive sentiment among investors.

According to DSE data, the benchmark index DSEX gained 109.10 points, settling at 5,024 points. Other indices also moved upward, with the DSES increasing by 24.92 points to 1,052 points, and the DS-30 rising by 42.91 points to close at 1,926 points.

The day’s total turnover stood at Tk 635.95 crore, a notable jump from the previous session’s Tk 385.92 crore.

Out of the 391 companies traded on the exchange, 359 saw price increases, while 22 declined and 10 remained unchanged.

Market analysts say the broad-based rise in share prices and the surge in turnover indicate growing investor confidence in the market.
