Trump administration imposes travel ban on citizens of 43 countries

The administration of Donald Trump intends to restrict travel to the United States to varied degrees for citizens of forty-three different nations. According to officials participating in this effort, the New York Times, a US media outlet, disclosed this information.

According to the report, a draft list in this regard has been prepared by US diplomatic and security officials. However, there may be some changes in the final proposal.

According to the New York Times, US security and diplomatic authorities have suggested creating a red list. Entry into the United States will be strictly prohibited for citizens of the eleven nations on this list. Afghanistan, Bhutan, Cuba, Iran, Libya, North Korea, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Venezuela, and Yemen are among these nations. An ‘orange’ list is also available.

Travel to the United States will be partially prohibited for citizens of the ten nations on this list. In this instance, individuals arriving on tourist or immigrant visas will not be allowed entry, even though wealthy businessmen from the nations are permitted. Belarus, Eritrea, Haiti, Laos, Myanmar, Pakistan, Russia, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, and Turkmenistan are among the nations on this list. A draft “yellow” list is also included in the proposal.

Angola, Antigua and Barbuda, Benin, Burkina Faso, Cambodia, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Chad, Republic of the Congo, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Dominica, Equatorial Guinea, Gambia, Liberia, Mali, Mauritania, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, São Tomé and Príncipe, Vanuatu, and Zimbabwe are among the 22 countries on this list, who have been asked to fill in the information gaps within 60 days or risk being moved to another list.

Shortly after assuming office, Donald Trump issued an executive order on January 20th, asking the US State Department to produce a report to the White House within 60 days that would determine which nations’ citizens should be prohibited or subject to restrictions from entering the United States.

This report must therefore be turned in the following week.
