The 29th Dhaka International Trade Fair is going to start for a month from January 1, keeping in mind the sacrifices of the students in the July-August uprising. If all goes well, the fair will begin at the Bangabandhu Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Center (BBCFEC) in Purbachal of the capital. And this is the first time that tickets for the fair will be available online.
Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) Secretary and Trade Fair Director Vivek Sarkar told the media this information.
He said that the month-long Dhaka International Trade Fair will start from January 1. The chief adviser of the interim government. Muhammad Yunus agreed to inaugurate the fair by being physically present at the fair premises at 10 am.
Director Vivek Sarkar said that every year something new is added to the trade fair. In continuation of that, this time we will organize the fair keeping in front of the self-sacrifice of the students in the mass uprising of July-August. There will be two corners named Shaheed Abu Saeed and Mir Mochad to honor the martyrs. There will also be a Youth Pavilion for the youth. Apart from this, there will be a seating area for senior citizens, only senior citizens can sit there.
Stating that special opportunities are being kept for women entrepreneurs, he also said that stalls will be allocated at relatively low prices for women entrepreneurs in this fair. Where they can sell products at relatively low prices.
The director of the trade fair said that this year the entrance of the fair is different. The entrance has the theme of the July-August uprising. Apart from this, EPB’s activities will be highlighted in the entire fair premises, including various issues of the financial sector.
In addition to buying tickets in person, this fair also has the opportunity to buy tickets online. Regarding this initiative taken for the first time, Vivek Sarkar said that we have already talked with the contractor. At e-ticketing, visitors can enter the fair by showing the QR code on their mobile phones.
He said, through this online service, visitors can purchase tickets from anywhere through the app. On the one hand, excessive crowding at the entrance to the fair can be avoided, on the other hand, valuable time of the visitors will be saved. Apart from this, visitors can buy tickets by standing in line as per the previous rules. Besides, efforts are being made to buy tickets from BRTC bus counters.
The director of the trade fair said that it has not been decided to increase the entrance fee of the fair so far. Like last year, the entrance fee for the fair will be Tk 50 for adults and Tk 25 for minors.
This secretary of the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) said that the BRTC bus service is also available for the convenience of visitors. These buses will run from under the Kuril flyover to the fair every day from 8 am to 10 pm.
He said that the organization of the fair is almost at the end, there will be challenges in the organization of the fair. Keeping those things in mind, I am proceeding with the work. About 80 percent of the work has been completed.
Incidentally, various organizations from India, Pakistan, Iran, Turkey, Malaysia, Indonesia, Hong Kong and Singapore are scheduled to participate in the 29th edition of the upcoming trade fair. There will be 350 stalls in total.
In this event, police, RAB and army members will also be engaged in overall security. There will also be a mobile court.
Apart from this, large scale parking facilities are being kept at the fair. So that the visitors do not have to suffer any kind of suffering.
