The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) has awarded FIX (Financial Information eXchange) certification to three more brokerage houses as part of its initiative to facilitate the adoption of proprietary Order Management Systems (OMS).
The newly certified firms are GMF Securities Limited, Prime Islami Securities Limited and Unicap Securities Limited.
The certificates were handed over at a ceremony held at the DSE headquarters on Wednesday by Md. Abid Hossain Khan, FCA, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of DSE.
Among others, Deputy General Manager Zisan Bin Mubarak, Assistant General Manager Kamrun Nahar, and other senior DSE officials attended the event.
On behalf of the certified firms, Lubna Mahmud, Head of IT at GMF Securities; Md. Rajib Hasan, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Prime Islami Securities; and Waliul Islam, CEO of Unicap Securities, received the certificates.
According to DSE, the stock exchange launched an initiative in 2020 to introduce an API-based Broker House Order Management System (BHOMS). Under the programme, 85 brokerage houses applied to connect their proprietary OMS with the Nasdaq matching engine through APIs.
With the latest additions, a total of 61 brokerage houses have received FIX certification so far. Of them, 53 brokerage houses have already successfully launched their proprietary OMS and are conducting trading activities through API connectivity, DSE said.
