Three companies returned from Z to A and B category.

Three categories of companies listed in the capital market have improved. Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) has upgraded the company from Z category to ‘A’ and ‘B’ category as it has completed distribution of declared dividend to investors for three financial years.

The three companies are – Union Insurance, Shepherd Industries and Advent Pharma Limited.

According to sources, Union Insurance has been upgraded to ‘A’ category with 10 per cent cash dividend for the period ended December 31, 2022. And for the period ending June 30, 2023, Shepherd Industries returned to ‘B’ category with a cash dividend of 5 per cent and Advent Pharma 2 per cent.

Companies will trade in ‘A’ and ‘B’ category from tomorrow Tuesday (October 22).

Earlier, DSE sent 28 companies, including the three companies in question, to Z category as per BSEC directives. However, BSEC took a new decision on these companies on Sunday. According to the decision, the companies which will complete the distribution of 80 percent of the dividend will be transferred to the applicable category by the stock exchange.
