The US will work closely with Bangladesh’s interim government, said the country’s charge of affairs in Dhaka, Helen Lafave.
He said this during a courtesy call on Foreign Affairs Adviser Towhid Hossain on Wednesday (August 14).
According to sources in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Helen Lafayette, the US Chargé d’Affaires appointed in Dhaka, met Foreign Affairs Adviser Touhid Hossain at her office. At that time, Helen Lafave expressed the interest of the United States to work closely with the interim government of Bangladesh.
Highlighting the priorities of the current government in the meeting, the adviser emphasized that the government will hand over power to the elected representatives if the reforms desired by the students of Bangladesh are completed. Important bilateral issues were also discussed in the meeting.
