The country’s stock market was stuck in a circle of decline for a long time. The stock market was consistently negative even though all components of the economy were positive. In the past year, the stock market index has fallen by more than a thousand points. And investors have lost capital of more than 1 lakh 30 thousand crore taka.
Both the stock markets have finally taken a turn in a positive trend after shaking with various fears and disappointments. Since the first working day of this July, the market has been going up. The opening index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), the main stock market, on Tuesday (02 July), the first working day of July, was 5,328 points. On Tuesday, the index increased by 266 points to 5 thousand 594 points in 6 working days. During this period, investors’ capital has returned 11 thousand 708 crore taka.
Market people say that more than 100,000 margin investors have returned home penniless in the last year. Those who survived in the stock market also suffered huge losses. Now they are waiting to recover from losses and return to profit.
Market analysts say that investors on the sidelines, especially large investors, have started returning to the market as the stock market returns to a positive trend. As a result, the market index is increasing as well as transactions are increasing. 1 thousand 190 crores were traded in DSE today. Which is the highest since February 14 this year. 1 thousand 173 crores were traded in DSE that day.
