Bangladesh Bank has fixed the maximum limit of cash withdrawal from the bank. From now on no more than 4 lakh cash can be withdrawn from an account. In the previous week, the maximum cash withdrawal was Tk 3 lakh.
On Saturday (August 24) night, Bangladesh Bank gave this instruction in an urgent message to the bank’s managing directors or MDs. The management director of several banks confirmed this information to the media.
According to the instructions, even if a customer cannot withdraw more than four lakhs in cash, they can transfer any amount of money to another account and do digital transactions.
After the fall of the Awami League government in the face of the movement on August 5, limits on withdrawals from banks were imposed for the sake of security. Gradually the cash withdrawal limit is being increased.
