The interim government has approved the purchase of 20 thousand metric tons of lentils for the Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) through local open tender (national) system. The total cost will be 203 crore 72 lakh taka.
This proposal was approved in the meeting of the Advisory Council Committee on Government Procurement held today Wednesday in the conference room of the Cabinet Division under the chairmanship of Finance and Trade Advisor Salehuddin Ahmed.

This is the first meeting of the Advisory Council Committee in 2024. Four proposals were presented and discussed in the meeting. Among them, there are three proposals from the Ministry of Industry and one from the Ministry of Commerce. All four proposals were approved in the meeting.
After the meeting, Finance and Trade Adviser Salehuddin Ahmed told reporters that we will not allow the supply of fertilizer to decrease in any way. And among the essential products, lentils are important, we will buy them. The important issues today were the purchase of fertilizer and the purchase of the essential commodity lentil. We have approved. Whatever money is required for this, be it in foreign currency, we will provide it.
According to the sources of the meeting, the proposal to buy 20 thousand metric tons of lentils (in 50 kg sacks) through local open tender (national) system has been approved. These pulses will be purchased from the domestic company Nabil Naba Food Products Limited. The total cost will be 203 crore 72 lakh taka.
