The Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) is set to commence the sale of essential goods in the capital and several other locations starting tomorrow (10 August).
This initiative will run concurrently with its regular sales to smart family cardholders at subsidized prices.
According to a TCB press release, the sales program will take place in Dhaka using 60 trucks from 10 August to 13 September, excluding Fridays.
In addition, similar mobile truck sales will be conducted in Chattogram city (25 trucks), Gazipur city (6), Cumilla city (3), Dhaka district (8), Cumilla district (12), Faridpur district (4), Patuakhali district (5), and Bagerhat district (5) from August 10 to August 31, also excluding Fridays.
Each truck is expected to cater to approximately 500 customers each day, offering soybean oil, sugar, and lentils at reasonable prices for all consumers.
As part of the program, two litres of soybean oil will be priced at Tk230, one kg of sugar at Tk80, and two kg of lentils at Tk140. The sales prices for smart family cardholders will remain the same, as stated.
