The Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB), a government-run entity, has requested the distribution of 26,871 tonnes of rice to be sold at a subsidized price to 5.374 million families holding smart cards this month, according to sources.
The government has been providing essential goods such as edible oil, lentils, and sugar to 10 million families with digital cards through TCB. In May, TCB plans to distribute rice to these smart cardholder families.
