Tangail Correspondent: Newly appointed Tangail Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate Abu Sayied held an exchange meeting with journalists of the district on Wednesday afternoon.
The meeting, organised by the district administration, was held at the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner’s office.
The meeting began with greetings and an introduction session between the Deputy Commissioner and representatives of the local media.
Speaking at the meeting, Abu Sayied said he had made several plans to develop tourism in Tangail. He also sought information and suggestions from journalists on various aspects of the district’s development.
On the upcoming Durga Puja, the largest religious and social festival of the Hindu community, the Deputy Commissioner said the administration would give the highest priority to ensuring that the festival is celebrated peacefully and safely.
He said executive magistrates, law enforcement agencies and other relevant authorities would work together to maintain security and ensure a smooth celebration.
Ataur Rahman Azad, president of Tangail Press Club, General Secretary Kazi Zakerul Mowla and former president Advocate Zafar Ahmed also spoke at the meeting.
Deputy Director of Local Government and Deputy Secretary Md Saiful Islam, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Md Mahbub Hasan, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Md Selim Mia, Senior Information Officer Tahleema Jannat and journalists from print and electronic media were present.
