The Embassy of Sweden in Dhaka, in collaboration with Business Sweden, has launched the “Sweden-Bangladesh Business Guide 2024-2025” to strengthen and expand business and trade relations between the two nations.
State Minister for Finance Waseqa Ayesha Khan attended the launch event on Monday as the chief guest. In her opening remarks, Swedish Ambassador to Bangladesh Alexandra Berg von Linde highlighted Bangladesh’s growing importance as a trade partner for Sweden in South Asia, noting that over 50 Swedish companies are already operating in the country.
Ambassador von Linde emphasized that one of Sweden’s main objectives is to solidify its position as a leading partner in green and digital transitions. She affirmed that this focus will remain a priority in future bilateral trade relations.
The Sweden-Bangladesh Business Guide 2024-2025 aims to support both Swedish and Bangladeshi companies in navigating business opportunities between the two countries. It provides detailed information on Swedish business priorities in Bangladesh, support systems, and entry points for doing business. The guide also includes profiles and product lines of Swedish companies already established in Bangladesh.
For Swedish companies considering entry into the Bangladeshi market, the guide presents Bangladesh as a promising destination for investment and a market for innovative Swedish products and services.
Cecilia Oskarsson, the Trade and Investment Commissioner of Sweden to India, made digital remarks during the event, stressing the importance of the growing business relationship between Sweden and Bangladesh.
Held at the Swedish Embassy premises, the event gathered representatives from the Swedish business community, government officials from both countries, relevant business chambers, the diplomatic community, and other key stakeholders.
Aligned with Sweden’s sustainable and inclusive ambitions, the Sweden-Bangladesh Business Guide is primarily distributed digitally and is available on the Swedish Embassy’s website.
