With an aim to include school-going students in the banking channel and encourage savings, ‘School Banking Conference-2024’ was held in Mymensingh District Town Hall with the participation of Teachers & Students of 42 local schools on October 26, 2024. The conference was patronized by Bangladesh Bank and was jointly organized by the branches of all scheduled banks located in Mymensingh where Shari’ah-based Standard Bank was the lead bank. Md. Habibur Rahman, Managing Director & CEO of Standard Bank chaired the program while Md. Mahbubul Haque, Executive Director of Bangladesh Bank Mymensinngh Office was present as the Chief Guest. Among others Md. Enamul Karim Khan, Director, Bangladesh Bank Mymensingh Office; Hasan Kazi Taufiqur Rahman, Joint Director of Bangladesh Bank Head Office and Head of the branches of all scheduled banks in Mymensingh were also present in the conference. Speakers in the meeting highlighted the benefits of saving in bank account to the school going students and urged them to contribute to future investments.
