Sona Masjid land port starts again

BM Desk: Following the Eid break, import and export activities have resumed at Sona Masjid, the nation’s second-largest land port. Mainul Islam, manager of Sona Masjid Land Port Port Link Limited, announced that the port’s import and export activities will start up again on Sunday morning (April 6).

He claimed that in observance of the holy Eid-ul-Fitr, import and export activities were totally suspended at this port from March 29 to April 5. Following the Eid vacation, port activities between Bangladesh and India have resumed as normal today. Since the morning, vehicles from India have started arriving at the port with imported cargo.

Md. Jamirul Islam, the Immigration In-charge (Sub-Inspector) at Sona Masjid, stated that despite the port’s closure for import and export over the Eid holiday, passport-holding travelers moved about normally.
