Shrimp production to be boosted through technology: Trade Advisor

Trade advisor. Salehuddin Ahmed said, there is a demand for our shrimp abroad. Production in the country is decreasing due to traditional methods. Technology should be used to increase shrimp production. If production is not increased, exports will not increase.

He made this call during an exchange of views with the leaders of Bangladesh Frozen Foods Exporters Association in the conference room of the Ministry of Finance at the Secretariat on Monday (November 4) afternoon.

The trade advisor said that the government has revamped Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) and Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority (BEZA). The investment climate in the country is now excellent. At this time, he urged the business leaders to increase investment in the private sector.

Ministry of Commerce Additional Secretary Md. Abdur Rahim Khan, Bangladesh Frozen Foods Exporters Association President Kazi Belayet Hossain, Senior Vice President Ashraf Hossain Masud and member Shyamal Das were present.
