Shahjalal Islami Bank organized financial literacy program

On October 4, 2026, the SME and Sustainable Finance Department of Shahjalal Islami Bank PLC. organized a program in the Rangpur region on “Acceleration Program on Financial Literacy for CMSME Women Entrepreneurs and Awareness on Formal Remittance Channels for Wage Earners” for CMSME women entrepreneurs as well as remittance recipients. The Managing Director of Shahjalal Islami Bank PLC. Mr. Mosleh Uddin Ahmed Presided over by the program while the Executive Director of Bangladesh Bank, Rangpur Zone, Mr. Md. Salah Uddin was present as Chief Guest.

Among others the Additional Director of Bangladesh Bank, Rangpur Zone, Mr. Md. Alamgir, the Joint Directors Mr. Forruk Ahmad Liton and Mr. Swapan Kumar Ray, the Head of Agricultural Investment & Sustainable Finance Department of Shahjalal Islami Bank PLC. Mr. Md. Abdur Rahim, the SAVP of Corporate Head Office Md. Ibrahim Hossen, the manager of Rangpur branch of the Bank Mr. Md. Karimullah, the Head of Foreign Remittance Department Mr. Mohammad Shakhawat Hossain along with a number of women entrepreneurs were present in the program. The event was moderated by Mr. Md. Manzur Rahman, AVP of the bank’s Sustainable Finance Department.

The program emphasized financial management of women entrepreneurs in the CMSME sector, access to banking services, importance of using formal financial channels and remittance of expatriate income through legitimate channels. The speakers also detailed discussed on enhancing financial knowledge of entrepreneurs in business management and expansion. Moreover, the program focuses on engaging women entrepreneurs more effectively with the banking system, enhancing their financial decision-making capacity and creating public awareness about safe and formal remittance channels.

Shahjalal Islami Bank will continue such initiatives in the future to foster the development of the CMSME sector and ensure the financial inclusion of women entrepreneurs.
