B Mirror Report: In honor of the holy Shab-e-Qadr and Eid-ul-Fitr, the nation’s two major stock markets, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE), have announced a seven-day holiday. From March 17 to March 23, there will be no official or commercial activity on the capital market.
Sources at the DSE and CSE confirmed the information.
During the previously scheduled Eid-ul-Fitr holidays, the government declared an additional one-day public holiday on March 18 (Wednesday) through an executive order. As a result, there will be no trading or official operations at the DSE and CSE from March 17 to March 23.
The two stock exchanges said that after the Ramadan and Eid holidays, office hours will return to the previous schedule. According to the regular timetable, office hours at the DSE and CSE are from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Trading takes place from 10:00 am to 2:20 pm, followed by the post-closing trading session from 2:20 pm to 2:30 pm.
After the consecutive seven-day closure, regular trading and official activities at both stock exchanges will resume on March 24 following the Eid holidays.
