Mansur Pabna Correspondent: A seminar titled “Role of Technical Education in Meeting the Challenges of the Fourth Industrial Revolution” was held in Pabna on Monday (June 22) at 10:00 am at the seminar room of Pabna Government Polytechnic Institute.
The seminar was presided over by Principal of Pabna Government Polytechnic Institute, Md. Samsad Khalil, while Pabna Deputy Commissioner Md. Aminul Islam attended the event as the chief guest.
In his speech, the chief guest said that Bangladesh must focus on technical and technological education, including artificial intelligence and robotics, to prepare the new generation for the Fourth Industrial Revolution. “If we fail to educate our new generation on these areas, we will fall behind globally. We must ensure that we do not lag behind in the world,” he added.
The keynote paper was presented by retired Principal Engineer Hafizur Rahman of Pabna Government Technical School and College.
Special guests at the seminar included Principal Engineer Md. Siddiqur Rahman of Pabna Technical School and College, Principal Engineer Moksedul Alam of Pabna Technical Training Center, and Plant Manager Md. Jahurul Islam of Pabna Dynamic Sun Power Private Limited, among others.
Welcome remarks were delivered by Vice-Principal of Pabna Government Polytechnic Institute, Md. Humayun Kabir.
Discussants at the seminar included Program Officer Engineer Jahidul Islam of the Asset Project under the Directorate of Technical Education, Managing Director of Said Simon Agro Md. Faridul Islam, writer and river researcher Dr. Md. Monsur Alam, and IDEB President Mohsin Ali, among others.
Speakers at the event said that the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) is not merely a technological term but a fundamental transformation that is reshaping how people work, live, and interact with one another. They emphasized the importance of adopting modern technology to move the country forward in line with global progress.
The overall arrangements of the seminar were managed by Chief Instructor of the Civil Technology Department, Engineer Md. Moniruzzaman, while the event was conducted by Instructor of Computer Science Department, Mahmudul Hasan.
Engineers and representatives from various government and private institutions and industrial organizations in Pabna were also present at the seminar.
