Farida Begum, mother of Rupayan Group Chairman Liaquat Ali Khan Mukul, passed away at the age of 74.

She reportedly fell seriously ill at her residence around midnight on Sunday due to complications associated with old age. She was taken to Continental Hospital in Gulshan, formerly known as United Hospital, where doctors declared her dead.

She is survived by four sons, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, relatives and numerous well-wishers.

Her janaza will be held after Zuhr prayers today at Gulshan Azad Mosque, following which she will be laid to rest at Banani Cemetery.

Her death has cast a shadow of grief over the Rupayan Group family. Leaders of various business and social organisations have expressed condolences over her death and prayed for the eternal peace of her departed soul.
