B Mirror Report: Profit of Robi Axiata, one of the country’s leading telecom operators, has increased by Tk 236 crore. At the end of last year, the company’s net profit rose to Tk 938 crore, compared with Tk 702 crore in 2024 marking a growth of nearly 34 percent year-on-year.
The financial statements for the past year were finalized at a board meeting held on Thursday. The company disclosed the profit figures in a press release following the meeting.
Robi Axiata, a listed company on the stock exchange, also announced a 17.5 percent cash dividend for shareholders along with its earnings declaration, in line with listing requirements. This means investors will receive Tk 1.75 per share as dividend. It is the highest dividend declared by the company since its listing. In 2024, Robi provided a 15 percent cash dividend, giving shareholders Tk 1.50 per share. The company was listed on the stock market in December 2020. Since then, it has declared 5 percent, 7 percent and 10 percent cash dividends for 2021, 2022 and 2023 respectively.
For the 2025 fiscal year, the company will have to distribute approximately Tk 917 crore as cash dividends. Of that amount, general individual investors who hold 7.5 percent of the company’s shares will receive around Tk 69 crore. Sponsor-directors, who own 90 percent of the shares, will receive approximately Tk 825 crore. Institutional investors, holding 2.5 percent of the shares, will receive about Tk 23 crore.
However, despite the dividend announcement, Robi’s share price declined on Thursday. On the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), the company’s share price fell by 2.25 percent, or 70 paisa, to close at Tk 30.80. Shares worth nearly Tk 10 crore were traded during the session.
According to the year-end financial disclosure, Robi had 57.4 million active subscribers at the end of last year, including 44.5 million data users. Compared to 2024, revenue from voice calls declined by nearly 3 percent in 2025. However, data revenue grew by more than 5 percent. The company recorded nearly Tk 10,000 crore in total revenue last year, reflecting a marginal 0.4 percent increase over the previous year.
Robi’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Ziaad Satara, said in the statement that despite a continued decline in voice call revenue, the company achieved positive revenue growth driven by strong expansion in data income. Increased data usage per customer contributed significantly to higher earnings from data services, he added.
