Reports of UAE Visa Ban on Bangladeshis Are False, Says Embassy

Reports circulating on social media and certain websites claiming that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has imposed visa restrictions on Bangladeshi citizens have been declared false by the Press Wing of the Bangladesh High Commission. The rumors, which suggested that the UAE would suspend the issuance of tourist and work visas to citizens from Bangladesh and several other countries starting January 2026, were first published by a non-official website, UAEVisaOnline.

In response, Bangladesh’s Ambassador to the UAE, Tareq Ahmed, dismissed the reports as “malicious propaganda” and confirmed that neither the Bangladesh Embassy in Abu Dhabi nor the Consulate in Dubai had received any official communication from UAE authorities regarding such restrictions. The embassy emphasized that the website spreading the news is not affiliated with the UAE government and urged the public not to be misled by unverified information.

Officials reassured Bangladeshi citizens that normal visa procedures remain unchanged and advised everyone to rely on official channels for updates.
