Record-breaking Remittances: Tk 33,574 crore in April

B Mirror Desk : Remittances totaling around 2.75 billion dollars ($2.752 billion) were received in the nation over the month of April. This is equivalent to 33,574 crore 40 lakh taka in Bangladeshi currency, which is at 122 taka per dollar. In the history of the nation, this is the second-highest remittance.

Around 91.7 million dollars, or more than 1119 crore taka, is the average daily income of foreigners living in the nation. Bangladesh Bank is the source of this information.

The central bank reports that for the entire month of April, 275 crore 20 lakh dollars were received in the nation. This amounts to 700 million dollars more than the same month in 2024. Remittances of 204 crore 40 lakh dollars were received in April of the previous year.

The last fiscal year 2023–24 had remittances of 1,992 crore dollars in the first ten months (July–April). Additionally, 2,454 crore dollars were received in the first ten months (July–April) of the current fiscal year 2024–25. As a result, over the same time period of the current fiscal year, almost 5.5 billion dollars ($5.42 billion) more was received than during the first 10 months of the previous fiscal year. Furthermore, the overall increase in remittances during the current fiscal year is about 28.30 percent.
