Aftab Momin Bhuiyan, Feni : The Feni District Administration, in partnership with the UNICEF-Bangladesh Staff Association, organized a cash assistance program for those impacted by the unprecedented floods in Feni.
During a cash distribution ceremony held today in the Deputy Commissioner’s conference room, Feni Deputy Commissioner Saiful Islam presented cash to the affected individuals as the chief guest. Golam Md. Baten, Deputy Director of Local Government in Feni, served as the special guest, alongside Ms. Madhuri Banerjee, Regional Head of UNICEF in Chittagong.
A total of 100 families received financial aid of Tk 2,000 each, including 40 from Feni Sadar Upazila, 25 from Chhagalnaiya Upazila, 20 from Fulgazi Upazila, and 15 from Parashuram Upazila.
The assistance prioritized families with a Golden Citizen Card, those with disabled children, families with children suffering from Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM), households living below the extreme poverty line, and those whose homes were severely damaged by the floods, particularly those with bamboo structures, tarpaulin, or mud houses. Special consideration was given to female-headed households and families that had not received prior assistance.
