Pubali bank launches cashless campaign in Tetulia

Panchagarh Correspondent: Pubali Bank PLC has launched a cashless payment campaign at its Tetulia sub-branch in Panchagarh to promote digital transactions through the Bangla QR system.

The campaign, themed “Cashless Transactions, Advancing Bangladesh – One Country, One QR: Bangla QR”, began on Tuesday with a rally titled “Cashless Tetulia Bazar”. The procession, organised by the Tetulia sub-branch, marched through different roads of Chowrasta Bazar before concluding with a discussion meeting.

The programme was inaugurated by Md Robiul Islam, Assistant General Manager and Branch Manager of Pubali Bank PLC’s Panchagarh Branch, who released balloons and cut a ribbon to mark the opening. Speaking as the chief guest, Robiul Islam said the government aims to expand the use of Bangla QR-based transactions across all sectors of trade and commerce by 2030.

He noted that digital payments would help reduce theft, robbery and the risk of financial losses while making transactions more secure and convenient. He urged traders and customers to open bank accounts and adopt Bangla QR services, adding that a special booth would remain open for the next three days to facilitate account opening and QR registration. Among the special guests were Tetulia Upazila BNP President Shahadat Hossain Ranju, Upazila Agriculture Officer Sabrina Afrin, Agricultural Extension Officer Md Jibon Islam and Officer-in-Charge of Tetulia Model Police Station Md Laichur Rahman. The welcome address was delivered by Mohammad Ali, Manager of Pubali Bank PLC’s Tetulia sub-branch. Bank officials, employees, customers and local residents attended the event.

At the end of the programme, the chief guest handed over cashless payment devices and Bangla QR codes to three customers as part of the campaign.
