B Mirror Report: For the first time since assuming office as the head of the newly elected government, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will address the nation. The speech will be broadcast live on Bangladesh Television (BTV) today, Wednesday, February 18, at 7 PM.
The Ministry of Information said in a statement that, alongside BTV and Bangladesh Betar, all private television channels and broadcasting platforms in the country have been requested to air the Prime Minister’s speech courtesy of BTV.
Earlier, on Tuesday, February 17, Tarique Rahman took the oath as Prime Minister, administered by President Mohammed Shahabuddin. On the same day, a 50-member cabinet led by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman (comprising 25 ministers and 24 state ministers) also took the oath.
Today at noon, the newly elected Prime Minister and members of the cabinet laid wreaths and paid respects at the graves of Martyr President Ziaur Rahman and Khaleda Zia in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, Dhaka.
Prior to that, they also paid tribute to the martyred freedom fighters of 1971 at the National Martyrs’ Memorial.
