B Mirror Report: Prime Minister Tarique Rahman today carried out official duties despite it being a weekly government holiday.
“Prime Minister Tarique Rahman reached his Tejgaon office at 10:15am from his Gulshan residence and performed official responsibilities,” his Additional Press Secretary Atiqur Rahman Rumon said.
During his time at the office, the prime minister exchanged views with officers and employees of the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), seeking their cooperation in implementing the commitments outlined in his election manifesto, the press secretary added.
Prime Minister’s advisers Mirza Abbas Uddin Ahmed, Ismail Zabiyullah, Rashed Al Mahmud Titumir, Shamsul Islam, Dr Jahedur Rahman and Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister ABM Abdus Sattar were present at the views-exchange meeting.
Rumon further said the prime minister is scheduled to join an iftar mahfil organised by Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Center later in the afternoon.
BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman assumed office as prime minister on February 17. Since taking charge, he has been attending office every Saturday despite government holidays. Last Saturday, he performed official duties at the Secretariat.
