B Mirror Report: The Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) today issued urgent instructions to all airlines following the temporary closure of several Middle Eastern airspaces amid heightened regional tensions stemming from the Iran–Israel situation.
According to airport authorities, the airspace of Bahrain, Kuwait, Dubai and Qatar has been temporarily shut in line with decisions taken by the respective civil aviation authorities following recent security developments in the region.
As a consequence, several scheduled commercial flights operating on the affected routes have been cancelled, delayed or rescheduled.
In response to the evolving situation, authorities at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA), under CAAB’s directives, instructed all concerned airlines to proactively notify passengers about flight cancellations or delays through SMS, email and call centres.
Airlines have also been directed to ensure the presence of their representatives at the airport to provide necessary assistance, updated information and guidance to passengers.
The directives further stressed the importance of disseminating clear and coordinated information regarding revised flight schedules in order to minimise inconvenience to travellers.
Passengers planning to travel to the affected destinations have been advised to urgently contact their respective airline offices or travel agencies to confirm flight status and take necessary measures.
CAAB officials said the situation is being closely monitored to ensure passenger safety and operational normalcy, seeking the cooperation and understanding of all stakeholders during this period.
